Trout in the Classroom Project
How would you like to rear your own trout from eggs and then release them in your nearest river? In that case you need to speak to these guys! And, Mr or Mrs Teacher, before you ask, it shouldn’t cost you anything. That nice Lord Chris Smith of the Environment Agency will probably pay for it!
Kettlewell Primary School
Timmy is in love with everyone here at his local school where we’ve done readings, feedback, literacy work and arty stuff. That’s where the fabulous cover illustrations came from. Mega thank you’s to Megan and Alex! Oh, and Mrs Taylor & Briggs. Yikes, nearly forgot…
Horton-in-Ribblesdale Primary School
Probably the most memorable day in the project so far was our field trip to Hubberholme. Ian admits to being a wee bit emotional when reading chapter 13 at the very spot where it all happened!
Yorkshire Dales Millenium Trust
Were very kind in sponsoring our field trip as part of their ‘Learning in Limestone Country’. Thanks to Education Officer Alex Barbour who showed us how to do minibeastastic stream dipping!
Peel Park Primary School
Ian has been doing public speaking and presentation skills here with with years 3 & 4. Big “Hi” to Miss Whittaker & Class 14 and“Igloo!” to Class 13 (as was).
The Environment Agency
Government body which not only looks after the countryside but very generously supports the Trout in the Classroom project. In 2008/9 the River Wharfe will have 10 tanks going into schools along its course, that’s the most anywhere in the UK. Thanks to fisheries inspector John Littlewood for that!
Food & Farming for REAL
The nice people who are hosting the children’s area at Kilnsey Show. They are farmers and producers who are passionate about the uplands and providing local food for local people! They have also mentioned Timmy in their podcasts which is very nice of them.
Recorded Devilery
The other Ian who helped our Ian put together this website. Which involved lots of explaining things v-e-r-y s-l-o-w-l-y! Oh, and did I mention that he only charges £149 + VAT? What more do you want?!
The Rainhall Centre
A lovely old school building in Barnoldswick which is now a multi-use arts, community and enterprise centre. The place where Ian works when he’s not: A) being a creative practitioner in schools B) buzzing round Wharfedale C) laying on his back daydreaming…
‘Pots of Love’ Ceramic Cafe
Fabby caff in the Rainhall Centre where you can have tea and cake whilst painting a pot! Also do workshops and can be part of a Timmy Day in schools where we’ll paint the characters onto plates, mugs and tiles and then get them fired. Your own original Timmy masterpiece!
